Around the globe, us humans tend to ride on a common wave of thought and emotion. The web amplifies this tendency, and is also the best place to see it’s effects in action.
For the past few weeks, my google reader homepage (if you have an internet connection and you are not using a reader like this – why not?) has been awash with “End of Year / Decade” retrospectives and new year commitments. It makes even a dumb gorilla like me pause for thought…
So before the week is out, I’ll sit down with a pen and make a list of goals for 2010. It will include goals for a multidude of dimensions – wellbeing, family, friends, career, creative, etc. Acknowledging that a goal is not truly a goal until you say it out loud to someone, I’ll be posting the less embarassing ones here. So my first resolution is to fulfill that promise.
Last night, we went over to visit our friends in Warrandyte. Having access to the yarra and a fire pump, we indulged the kids with some gen X style old time fun – a slip and slide. Not one child went looking for a Ninetendo DS or a mobile phone. Let’s have more simple pleasures in 2010! Full Slideshow
