I’ve got the Safari Blues…

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

After the last design drama, I now have a new challenge. Nigel of Pulse Photography let me know yesterday that he could not read the text of my blog because the background pattern (blue damask) that is supposed to surround my white page was showing underneath my blog text, instead of the plain white. It seems to be something to do with the version of Safari that Nigel is using. Anyone else having this issue?

Aaarrggh – but it looked good last night!

Ugh.

I thought I would try a different background to the website and blog. I liked the idea of it looking like a wall, with light playing over it.

The concept is pretty good, but my oh my, the blue I chose is just too bright and clashes with the colour of images in my portfolio.  In addition, it does not work on some screen sizes. So I will have to have another go.

If you have stumbled here during the “oh god it’s too blue!” phase, please accept my apologies and promise to visit again soon, to see how I resolve it….  ;o)

We took their sushi and seafood entree, added MLW’s famous lamb shanks and ate ourselves into a frenzy that was capped off with home made Tira Misu (thanks girls).

Breakfast was pancakes with Fruit, bacon and Maple syrup. Are you noticing a theme here?

And as an overlay to the culinary excess, there was a constant hum of kids playing… (more…)

In the garden

I’ve been posting articles on Website design, which is OK, but I have to admit, I am getting a bit stale on it so it’s time to shake things up a bit. After all, it’s not web design that sings a siren song, it’s creating beautiful images!

A couple of weeks ago we took the family down to Inverloch for the weekend. It was cold and a bit wet, but still a great chance to chill out. Being winter, there was some great light to be head at certain time of the day:
